A/Rt is not a build, its your profession(s). so we cant tell you if its a good build for dmg dealing or dmg reduction unless we have the skills you plan to use. any combination of professions can do the things you asked about, as can a pure assassin.
gonna need more information...

A/Rt's can be pretty effective with their weapon spells. Try
Shadow Prison [E]
Black Lotus Strike
Twisting Fangs
Black Spider Strike
Blades of Steel
Warmonger's Weapon/Nightmare Weapon/Splinter Weapon/Wailing Weapon
Wielder's Strike/Feigned Neutrality
Resurrection Signet

I think you should just take a hero monk and just run pure dmg.

I am going to create a build that uses the Rit's defensive spirits to protect me, and my assasin prof to kill the enemies without dieing or anything.

You can go to Elona from Kaineng Center.
That said, if you don't want to die at all... that's another situation entirely. All the healing and damage in the world won't keep you from dying if you don't know when to get the hell out of dodge, who to attack, etc. Just thought I'd throw that one in there.
Edit: Just saw that you wanted to use Rit spirits to keep you alive. That's a bad idea, IMO. They take a heavy attribute point investment, which means that you'll have way less points for damage, which will make you weak in both directions.
You're better of sticking to Weapon spells, overall.

Dead-end idea. Play pure assassin until you know what you're doing. Or even better, pick a different class for starters, IMO.

I know I will die a lot, but I would rather die rarely.
